Friends of Peck Slip Park
We are a group of neighbors who came together to show some love to Peck Slip Park, a small but vital public space in the South Street Seaport Historic District.
Our first goal is to establish real, sustainable landscaping in the planted areas of the park. To that end we’ve worked with the Parks Department to replant the garden beds with new native shrubs and perennials. And you’ll be seeing us out watering and weeding and otherwise caring for those plants in the months ahead.
The goal is a thriving pollinator garden, made up of native plants and shrubs that will not only be beautiful but will attract birds, butterflies, bees and other insects important for the health of our environment.
